2011 Competition Results

We have had a fantastic competition season this year.
In July we held our Halifax Sports Acro internal Competition where all members of the club are invited to perform in front of family friends and relatives. There were some lovely routines and it was a very exciting day for the 80 gymnasts who took part.

Our development / competition squad gymnasts took part in both the Wakefield Open Tumble Competition and the North West v Yorkshire Low tariff Competition with some excellent results from all involved.

February saw the Halifax Sports Acro Competition Squad Compete at the Yorkshire Prelim producing Three Gold medals

Billy and Morley in the Men's Pairs, Morley in Regional A under 11 men's tumble and Imogen and Niamh in the Disabilities D Women's Pairs.

Imogen and Niamh qualified to represent Halifax Sports Acro and the Yorkshire Region at the British Finals held at Fenton Manor in Stoke were they became British Champions.

The Yorkshire Championships in October saw Halifax Sports Acro produce Yorkshire Champions at National 1 Women's Pairs - Rhiannon Prescott and Lucy Maude. National 1 Women's Groups - Rhiannon Prescott, Lydia Sunderland and Niamh Findlater.

Bronze Medal Elle Bayley at National 2 11-12 years Women's tumble. There were lots of other excellent results just outside the medals.

Thank you to Becky M who stepped in at two weeks notice to enable our National 2 trio to compete. Becky retired from competative gymnastics two years ago. Due to an uncharacteristic error by one of the group they dropped out of a medal position. But the combined experience of the trio paid off producing one of the best routines of the section.

Becky also choreographed the majority of the new
routines for this competition and the results
reflected the time, effort and attention to detail
she has put into them.

Thank you for all your hard work.
